PAU STUDENT WINS SECOND PRIZE AT NATIONAL SEMINAR
LUDHIANA – Biswajeet Singh, an M.Tech. student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University, has won second prize at AICTE sponsored National Seminar on “Clean Energy Technologies,” organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur, on November 7. The work presented by Biswajeet Singh entitled “Potential of Forced Draft Paddy Straw Bale Combustor Technology for Greenhouse Heating Using Flue Gas Circulation” is a part of efficient paddy straw management technology, designed and developed by his Major Advisor, Dr V.P. Sethi, Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, PAU, under ICAR sponsored extramural research project allocated to PAU for developing useful heating applications for paddy straw management to prevent the farmers from burning straw in fields. The prize was won out of 30 entries (from across the country) presented for display in the poster session of the seminar.
