LUDHIANA,
The students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have brought laurels to their alma-mater by winning overall runners-up trophy in Team Games (Men) during the XVIIIth All India Inter Agricultural University Games and Sports Meet 2017-18, held at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, from January 30 to February 3. The students emerged as winners in Basketball (Men) and runners-up in Volleyball (Men) and Athletics (Men). In addition, they clinched six medals in athletics including one Gold Medal in Discus Throw (Men); four Silver Medals in Discus Throw and Shot Put (Men), 800M and 1500M (Women); and Bronze Medal in High Jump (Men). A total of 42 students including 30 men and 12 women students, accompanied by two officials, participated in the meet. Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, congratulated the winners and exhorted them to continue working hard in future as well.
While welcoming the students on their arrival at Ludhiana, Dr (Mrs) R.K. Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, congratulated them and attributed their success to their hard work and untiring efforts.
