PAU TO HOST ANNUAL NETWORK GROUP MEETING ON ONION AND GARLIC
LUDHIANA,
The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in association with ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research (DOGR), Rajgurunagar, Pune, will host the “IXth Annual Group Meeting of All India Network Research Project on Onion and Garlic” from June 8-10, 2018.More than 100 delegates from various parts of the country are expected to attend this meet. Besides, progressive onion and garlic growers of the country, representatives of the MNCs and scientists from allied fields will also participate. Dr R.S. Sidhu, Registrar, PAU, will be the chief guest, while Dr A.K. Singh, Deputy Director General (Horticulture), ICAR, will chair the inaugural session.
Dr A.S. Dhatt, Organizing Secretary and Head, Department of Vegetable Science, PAU, said the main objective of this group meeting is to review the work done during last year and formulate the future plan of work in the field of onion and garlic research.
Eminent researchers from the field of vegetable science including Dr G. Kalloo, Former Deputy Director General (Horticulture), ICAR; Dr K.E. Lawande, Former Vice Chancellor, Dr Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli; Dr Bijendra Singh, President of National Horticultural Research and Development Foundation; and Dr Major Singh, Director, Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, will also grace the occasion.
