The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday announced it would not take part in the local body elections scheduled for October-December, a week after the National Conference said it was boycotting the elections until the Centre clarified its stand on Article 35-A.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said instead of holding elections, the Jammu and Kashmir Government must focus on confidence-building steps.
