U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that American president has made “very clear” to Turkey’s Erdogan that he was opposed to the Turkish incursion into northern Syria, but welcomed the suspension of Turkey’s military offensive against Kurdish-led forces.

Making a joint statement with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at NATO Headquarters, Pompeo added, that his administration is “very hopeful” to “continue to be able to implement and execute it.

Pompeo also added,that “us is hopeful that both the Turks who were part of the agreement , as well as the the YPG fighters in the region, will take seriously the commitments that they made.
