President Ramnath Kovind reaches Port Louis on a state visit to Mauritius; President will be the chief guest at the celebrations commemorating 50th year of independence of Mauritius; will visit Madagascar in his second leg of tour.

President Ram Nath Kovind and first lady Savita Kovind met President of the Republic of Mauritius Dr Ameenah Gurib at Le Reduit (State House) in Port Louis on Sunday.

President Ramnath Kovind has reached Port Luis in Mauritius during his two-nation visit. President will be the chief guest at the celebrations commemorating 50th year of independence of Mauritius. Upon his arrival in Mauritius, President Ramnath Kovind paid tributes to Mahatama Gandhi at Mahtama Gandhi institute in Port Louis.

On 14 March, President Ramnath Kovind will visit the island nation of Madagascar. The visit of the President to Madagascar, from March 14-15, will be the first ever visit by an Indian VVIP to the island nation.
