PUNJAB CABINET OBSERVES ONE-MINUTE SILENCE IN MEMORY OF KULDIP NAYAR
Chandigarh, The Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday observed one-minute silence as a mark of respect to veteran journalist and noted writer Kuldip Nayar (95), who passed away in Delhi.The Cabinet described Kuldip Nayyar as a multifaceted personality, who served in different capacities as a diplomat and parliamentarian.Besides being a fine human being, he was an erudite author, who penned several articles on a wide spectrum of Indian and international topics including politics and current affairs in the esteemed columns of leading newspapers and magazines, the cabinet notes.Recalling his remarkable services as a son of Punjab, the Cabinet said that Nayar would be remembered by one and all for his efforts in strengthening Indo-Pak ties, besides fostering love, peace, brotherhood and amity between the people of both nations.The cabinet shared their heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, relations and friends.
