Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has assured his government’s unequivocal commitment to protecting and promoting the interests of the labour and working class in the state.

In his May Day eve message, the Chief Minister said this historic occasion, which marks the iconic struggle of the labour class globally, was a reminder of the role played by this class in the state’s and the nation’s progress. Their contribution to the holistic development of the state could not be ignored or undermined, said Captain Amarinder.

His government, said the Chief Minister, was committed to upholding the dignity of the labour class and to working relentlessly for their welfare.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also called upon the state’s working and labour class to pledge themselves, on this May Day, to fight for their rights and safeguard them at all costs.
