Train tickets become costly from Wednesday as Indian Railways hike base price; No excess fare will be charged from passengers who have booked tickets before 1st January, 2020.

Indian Railways has called the fare-hike as marginal, with the maximum increase being Four paise per kilometre for the A.C class of rail travel.
