Heavy rain lashed several parts of the country, affecting normal life. Moderate rain hit various parts of the national capital in monring today.

The southwest Monsoon has been active over east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The Met department had predicted Heavy to very heavy rain in Uttarakhand and at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.Heavy rain also affected normal life.

In Odisha, rain related incidents claimed three lives yesterday. Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Rayagada districts are facing flood-like situation, while Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri are grappling with water logging.

Met officials have predicted more rain during the next 24 hours.Met department has also predicted heavy rain in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Vashakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Telengana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has asked government officials to take necessary measures in view of forecast of heavy rain in the state.
