Delhi on Monday woke up to a windy morning with rainfall in parts of the National Capital Region.

Light rain was seen in several parts of Delhi and the larger NCR, bringing citizens slight relief from the heat.

However traffic was brought down to a crawl with long jams in many areas of the national capital due to rain.

The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms for Delhi-NCR over the next two days.

Thunderstorms have also been forecast in isolated areas over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, west Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim and Odisha.

The Met office said rain/thundershower will also occur in all parts of Himachal Pradesh with heavy falls in districts Solan, Shimla, Bilaspur and Mandi.
