Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will launch the Student Police Cadet project in Gurugram on July 21. On the occasion, as many as 6,000 school students will take oath under the project.

The objective of the SPC project, which will be launched on the pattern of the National Cadet Corps , is to inculcate civic consciousness, social commitment and a sense of purpose in students, besides inspiring them to fight against social evils.

An official spokesman said the project would also encourage the students to develop their love for nature, uphold values, maintain discipline and respect for law and order, thereby contributing to nation building.
