Residents of unauthorised colonies in Delhi can apply for ownership right from Dec 16
Residents of unauthorised colonies in the national capital will be able to apply for ownership rights from the 16th of next month. Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said the applicants will get the ownership certificate within 180 days from the date of application.
The Minister was speaking after inaugurating a portal developed by the Delhi Development Authority. The portal will define and delineate the boundaries of 1,731 unauthorised colonies using satellite imagery.Mr Puri said NCT of Delhi Bill, 2019 will be tabled in the current Session of Parliament.
He said more than 40 lakh residents of 1,731 unauthorised colonies will be benefited under Prime Minister- Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana .
The Minister accused the Arvind Kejriwal government of delaying the process of delineation of unauthorised colonies on various pretexts.
