Restart work on Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal: Abhay
Sonepat,
Abhay Singh Chautala, Leader of Opposition in Haryana Assembly, today said the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) was committed to organise a protest rally at Ramlila ground in Delhi on March 7 if the state government did not restart the construction of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal by the end of February.
He was interacting with mediapersons after addressing a public meeting at Moi Majri village in the district to muster public support for its rally.
He also addressed public meetings at Naina Tatarpur, Sitawali, Hatgaon, Bidhal and Gohana.
Abhay alleged that during the last three years of the BJP in the state, the law and order situation had deteriorated and it was evident from the three major events that took place in the state.
“The state government has even failed to check corruption in the government offices,” he said.
Instead of spending on the welfare and development works, he said, the state government had spent a huge amount paying to the Central Armed Police Forces a number of times for maintaining law and order situation.
He also alleged that the BJP government in the Centre as well as in the state had looted every section of society, including farmers in the name of implementing the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations.
