Riders for Awareness & Welfare Club initiates awareness campaign against Noise Pollution
Rupnagar, October 2:
The “Riders for Awareness & Welfare Club” today initiated awareness campaign against the noise pollution with the help of District Traffic Police and Pollution Control Board, Punjab. Giving details here, President of RAW club, Mr. Akashdeep Gautam said that noise pollution causes discomfort and harm to human beings both physical and mentally. It has been researched by the experts even animals suffered from excessive noises made by vehicles so that RAW club decided to commence this crusade with the help of concerned authorities.
On the occasion Mr. Gulshan Kumar, S.D.O. Pollution Control Board said that it is our social responsibility towards the humanity to protect our environment and surrounding from the effects of pollution. He said that Under Motor vehicle ACT -1988 & Air Pollution (Prevention and control) ACT-1981 apart from challaning and fine, there is provision of imprisonment up to six years to the offender. Now, state government has issued the instruction to strictly compliance this ACT across the State.
Members of RAW club also distributed the badges and sticker concerning to the awareness campaign to people who were found obeying traffic rules in the city. The programme was also attended by the District Traffic Police.Among from other who present on the occasion included H.P. Singh Chairman Blachor Public School, Vicky Sohal, Dilshad, Ajay Kumar, Vikas Sharma, Ravinder Singh Vivek Kumar, Munish Lamba, Rahul Kumar, Vicky Mehta, Surinder Singh, Ravinder Gill, Harvinder Singh , Shershth Gautam and Rakesh Chopra.
