With a view to ensuring hassle free pilgrimage to the devottees dude Etty in the Holla Mohalla, the DC, Gurneet Kaur has taken a number of dedicated and first of its kind Initiatives. The DC has exerted her nerves to exhort the shopkeepers and residents to take effective steps to ensure proper sanitation in the town. Besides, they have also been motivated to ensure proper hygiene while organising langars for the pilgrims. The pilgrims should be served chlorinated water, availabilty of dustbins, proper sanitation for providing the best facilities to the pilgrims . She has also compartmentalised the area and made it vehicle free for the convenience of pilgrims. The encouraging reciprocation from the local residents indicate that the dedicated efforts of the DC has started fructifying . Besides, SSP Rajbachan Singh Sandhu has also been giving a fillip to the initiatives of the DC. He has constituted a assosciation ’Police Youth and Veteran Welfare club’ to guide pilgrims. The Association would strive hard to strike proper coordination among pilgrims and officials . Mela incharge cum SDM Rakesh Kumar Garg has also been playing an important part to translate the initiatives into reality at the cutting edge level . All the businessmen and residents of Rupnagar have experienced a good change in the Holla Mohalla celebration this year.
