SBI has welcomed the UK court’s order to recover dues allegedly owed to them by liquor baron Vijay Mallya. SBI said that it will soon start the procedure of recovering the dues.

UK court had passed the order in favour of a consortium of 13 Indian banks seeking recovery of dues from Mallya. Vijay Mallya is fighting extradition on charges of fraud and money laundering to the tune of Rs 9,000 crore.

SBI MD Arijit Basu expressed confidence that the final decision will be very fair to banking system.
