SIT goes slow on Vipassana

After questioning Dera Sacha Sauda chairperson Vipassana for over nine hours on October 13, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has now gone slow on grilling her.

Sources said that there were verbal instructions from the state government to the SIT that no action should be taken till October 25, as the Assembly session was under way.

The SIT had asked Vipassana to submit the documents pertaining to the 45-member statecommittee of the dera, but she was yet to submitthe documents.

An SIT official said they had conveyed a message to Vipassana to assist the team otherwise they could initiate action against her.

After grilling Vipassana on October 13, the SIT had asked her to reappear on October 16, but she did not turn up and instead, sent her medical certificate.

Vipassana had been asked to appear before the SIP in Panchkula inconnection with a case registered at the Sector 5 police station in which dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s adopted daughter Honeypreet, dera spokesperson Aditya Insan and other top functionaries are accused of sedition and conspiracy.
