The Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh on Thursday greeted countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra and Durga Puja, which are being celebrated on Friday across the country.

In his message, the Speaker said that these two festivals, which symbolise the victory of good over evil forces, were of great cultural significance irrespective of caste, colour and creed.

He said that our nation has an age old tradition of celebrating these festivals which play a vanguard role in promoting goodwill, peace and communal harmony in the society besides showing us a way to lead a peaceful and contented life.

The Speaker urged the people to collectively celebrate this joyous occasion by rededicating themselves for promotion of peace, amity and brotherhood.
