Sudan’s military council names new intelligence head

A spokesperson for the council, Lieutenant General Shams El Din Kebashy, also said there had been a decision by the former regime to disperse the sit-in ‘by force at any cost’.

Sudan’s main protest group demanded the immediate handover of power to a civilian transitional government earlier on Sunday, saying it would keep up the street demonstrations which ousted former President Omar al-Bashir last week to achieve its aims.
