Supreme Court takes suo moto cognizance of Unnao rape survivor’s letter alleging the accused of threatening her, Court to hear case tomorrow, CJI seeks report from SC registry on the delay in placing the woman’s letter before him

Supreme Court on Wednesday took suo moto cognizance of the letter sent to CJI Ranjan Gogoi by the family of the Unnao rape survivor seeking protection. The Chief Justice Justice Ranjan Gogoi has sought a report from the Secretary General on delay in placing this letter before the CJI. Supreme Court on Thursday will hear whether the matter needs to be taken up on judicial side or administrative side..

The CBI has also registered a case against 20 unknown persons under criminal conspiracy, murder, attempt to murder & criminal intimidation. According to the normal procedure, the CBI has taken over investigation in the accident case from Uttar Pradesh re-registering its FIR.

The agency has also alerted its officials, who may visit the accident site and take details from police officials of Gurubakshganj Police Station in Rae Bareli where the accident took place.
