The event will highlight the sacrificial history of the Sikh organization

Preparations are underway by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to decorate the centenary celebrations in the light of the sacrificial history of the organization. The centenary establishment day of the Shiromani Committee is coming on 15th November 2020, to which special functions will be organized.

The main function will be held on November 17 at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. Earlier, Sri Akhand Path Sahib would be inaugurated on November 15 at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. On the occasion of the centenary celebrations, the President of the Shiromani Akali Dal Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal today called on the office bearers and officials and handed over the responsibilities to various officers. Meanwhile, Bhai Longowal said that the sacrificial history of the Sikh body would be highlighted in the centenary celebrations of the Shiromani Committee, the representative body of the nation.

Bhai Longowal said that the SGPC during its century journey has played an important role in pursuing national issues while also managing Gurdwaras as per Panthic etiquette, playing a major role in the field of education besides social welfare and service. He also made a great contribution in the field. Bhai Longowal said that on the occasion of the centenary of the establishment of the organization, the history and functions of the Shiromani Committee would be reflected. He said that the centenary celebrations started yesterday with a painting workshop in which 31 painters from all over Punjab were participating. The paintings produced during the painting workshop will depict the history associated with the Shiromani Committee, which will be exhibited during the centenary celebrations. Apart from this, a historical document pertaining to the Shiromani Committee is being published, which will be printed and distributed in large numbers.

Sukhbir Singh, S. Nirveil Singh, Superintendent. Malkit Singh Bahirwal and S. Palwinder Singh Chitta etc. were present.
