THEATRE EVENTS AND FOLK DANCES STOLE THE SHOW AT PAU YOUTH FEST

The theatre events and the folk dances enthralled the audience on the last day of the Inter-College Youth Festival at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. The energetic giddha and bhangra, accompanied by the beats of dhol, completely stole the show. Earlier, students demonstrated their acting skills in mime, bhand, mimicry and one-act plays and touched various issues such as drug abuse, land disputes, poverty, etc. They also highlighted themes like wait, hope and family happiness.

Addressing the students, the Chief Guest, Dr Dharampal Nandan, Director Students’ Welfare, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, said, “Youth festival is a best platform to showcase your talent.” These fests have produced numerous artists who have earned great recognition at the national as well as international level, he added.

In his presidential remarks, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, applauded the students for their wonderful performances and urged them to be disciplined citizens.

Earlier, Dr (Mrs) Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU, delivered her welcomed address. The fest will conclude late in the evening, and the declaration of results and the prize distribution ceremony will be held at the last. Dr Pradeep Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, will be the chief guest.
