CM LAUNCHES ONLINE REGISTRATION AND DEMARCATION OF LAND BY USING ELECTRONIC SYSTEM

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the Online Registration (NGDRS) and Demarcation of land by Using Electronic System introduced in Jalandhar as pilot project would transform the land Revenue in the district.

Interacting with the officers/ officials on the sidelines a program to launch these pilot projects by the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in the presence of his entire Cabinet, through Video conferencing, the Deputy Commissioner said that these revolutionary steps were aimed at providing clean, transparent, effective and accountable land revenue system to people. He said that it was a matter of great pride and satisfaction for all of them that Online Registration (NGDRS) project was being launched as pilot project in the country at Adampur (Jalandhar) and Moga whereas the pilot project of Demarcation of land by Using Electronic System was being launched by the state government today in five districts of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali). He said that this was a revolutionary step which would prove decisive in facilitating the people by providing them facility of land record just on a single click adding that fortunately Jalandhar has been selected for both of these projects. Mr. Sharma asserted that the officers/ officials were fortunate to be present on this occasion when a new and glorious chapter of history was being scripted.

Quoting the examples of Diwan Todar Mal and Sir Chotu Ram, the Deputy Commissioner said that both these personalities were still fondly remembered for the efficient land record system adding that with the introduction of these two pilot projects effectiveness of land record system and the services provided to people would further enhance. Mr. Sharma exhorted the officers/ officials to perform their duty diligently and with utmost professional commitment to provide best services to the people. He said that soon an extensive training program would be organized for the officers/ officials to acquaint with these landmark projects.

Meanwhile during interaction with the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh during the launch of this ambitious project, the Deputy Commissioner assured him that the district administration would leave no stone unturned to make this noble initiative a huge success.

On the occasion, the Commissioner Jalandhar Division Mr. Raj Kamal Chaudhary and Deputy Commissioner also handed over the copy of first online registration of the day to Mr. Dishwender Kumar and his family.

It may be recalled that this project National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) has been developed by National Informatics Centre, under MEITY. The software application was developed in a generic and configurable manner to address the requirements at various levels of registration department. This project would empower the citizens to register themselves online in to the system and enter registration details, online payment, valuation and prior appointment with sub registrar to present the document for registration. A special provision for documents writers has also been provided. Care has been taken to carry out same work with sub registrar office if at all the applicant can’t do online entry on his /her own.

On the occasion Director Land Records Mr. Vinay Bublani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Ms. Amrit Singh, Mr. Paramvir Singh, Mr. Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa, Ms. Navneet Kaur Bal and Mr. Rajeev Verma, Senior Technical Manager of NIC Mr. Amolak Singh Kalsi and others were also present.
