Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has flayed the erstwhile Congress government at the Centre for not adopting a deterrent measure such as an airstrike back in 2008 after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

Attending an Ex servicemen and intellectuals meet in Hyderabad on Sunday, the Defence Minister criticized the previous governments for not building a national war memorial as a mark of respect to armed forces personnel who lost their lives in operations since Independence.
