Varanasi court to hear petition on Priyanka’s temple visit
Varanasi Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court will hear a plea against AICC general secretary incharge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for offering prayers at Vishwanath Temple in the city.
The petition, filed by Varanasi-based lawyer KC Tripathi, seeks orders for registering a case against Priyanka Gandhi Vadra “who is a Christian and yet offered prayers at the temple.” The CJM court has passed orders to file a case, which will come up for hearing on April 12.
During her three-day Ganga Yatra from Prayagraj to Varanasi from March 17 to 20, Priyanka had performed puja at the temple on March 20.“I had filed a petition in the CJM court, seeking orders for registering a case against Priyanka Gandhi, who is a Christian, for offering prayers at Vishwanath Temple.
