VIGILANCE NABS DFSC FOR TAKING BRIBE RS. 40,000
Chandigarh, January 16: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption, today nabbed District Food Supply Controller (DFSC) Sangrur and his middle man red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 40,000.
Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Manjit Singh DFSC posted at Sangrur and middle man Harish Arora were nabbed on the complaint of contractor Narinder Kumar.
He added that the complainant has approached the Bureau and informed that the accused were demanding bribe of Rs. 40,000 for releasing his payments of cartages of food grains/ labour charges.
The Spokesman informed that after verifying his information the Vigilance team laid a trap and both the accused were caught red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.40,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigations was under progress.
