Virasat-e-Khalsa reckoned amongst the foremost museums in the country: Shivdular Singh Dhillon.

Blood Donation Camp organized; Director Cultural Affairs-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Anandpur Sahib Foundation, IAS, Shivdular Singh Dhillon inaugurates the camp.

A museum built at any place functions as a custodian of the culture and history of that place and becomes a source of an inspiration for the younger generations. Nothing endorses it better than Virasat-e-Khalsa, the museum showcasing the prideful 500 years history of Punjab, and which has already been visited by 8.8 million people from across the globe ever since it was opened to the public in November 2011. Expressing a sense of fulfilment, the Director, Cultural Affairs-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Anandpur Sahib Foundation, Shri Shivdular Singh Dhillon, IAS addressed a gathering of visitors and staff of Virasat-e-Khalsa on the occasion of ‘International Museum Day’ which is celebrated on 18th May every year. Acknowledging that Virasat-e-Khalsa has come to be reckoned amongst the foremost museums in the country, he expressed satisfaction at the holding of camp by the management on a short notice and thanked the entire staff for the efforts. He also expressed confidence that the day is not far when it will occupy the top spot amongst the museums of the country. He also recalled with a sense of nostalgia the times he spent with Mr. Moshe Safdie, the Principal Architect hired by the then Govt of Punjab, surveying the site and watching him scribble and sketch raw drawings of Virasat-e-Khalsa during the years 1999-2000 while his tenure as Sub Divisional Magistrate of the sacred town.

Earlier, Manager-cum Executive Engineer Bhupinder Singh Channa apprised the audience by projecting facts about the world-wide attention Virasat-e-Khalsa has drawn and the boost in economy of the town since its inauguration. The blood donation camp, organized with the help of Bhai Jaita Ji Civil hospital, was then inaugurated by Shri Shivdular Singh Dhillon during which a total of 70 units of blood were collected. Before the camp he also planted trees in the park while emphasizing the ever increasing significance of trees to conserve the mother nature and also instructed the management and staff in this regard.

Among those present on the occasion were Manager Er. Bhupinder Singh Channa, Er. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Er. Surinder Pal Singh, Sh. Dharam P[al Singh, Sh. Jaswinder Singh, Sh. Darveshdeep Singh, Assistant Manager Sh. Sukhmandeep Singh, Supervisor Sh. Pushpdeep Singh, Security In Charge Sh. Baldev Singh, Jarnail Singh, Mohit Rana and Rana Bakhtawar Singh along with staff of Civil Hospital.
