On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma the Water Supply and Sanitation Department of the state today embarked series of programs under the “Swachhta hi Sewa” sanitation campaign.

Divulging the details Executive Engineer of the Department Mr. KS Saini said that the department organized cleanliness drive at Village Lohara Sukha Singh block Jal East. Likewise, he said that another such drives were undertaken at Village Talwandi Sanghera block Shahkot and at Village Bara pind in block Phillaur . Mr. Saini said that officers of the department including Mr. Gagandeep Singh Walia Mr. Alok Arora, Mr. Chetan Saini, Mr. Zorawar Singh, Mr. RK Dubey and Mr. Puneet Basin along with their teams undertook cleanliness in these villages.

The Executive Engineer said that the campaign has been planned from September 15 to October 2 , for the clean and hygienic India as. He said that the department was mobilizing all its resources and manpower to make this programme a grand success .
