Responding to a threat given by All-India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti leader Yashpal Malik of opposing their programmes from August 16, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu made it clear that they will deal strongly against any attempt to create anarchy.

The CM said nobody would be allowed to take the law into their hands, while Abhimanyu referred to Malik as member of “liar gang” and said that the community members were demanding the details of the funds collected during Jat agitation.

The AIJASS leader during a ‘bhaichara sammelan’ in Jassia on Sunday announced to relaunch the stir for reservation from August 16 in a phased manner.

It was announced that in the first phase, the samiti members will stage dharnas at the venue of the programmes of the CM and the finance minister organised in the rural areas of nine districts Rohtak, Jhajjar, Dadri, Bhiwani, Hisar, Kaithal, Jind, Panipat and Sonepat.

Both Khattar and Abhimanyu were here to attend a state-level function organised by the Finance Department and banks on promotion of digital transactions, BHIM app and disbursal of loans.

The CM claimed the threat to be a serious issue and said, “It is unfortunate that someone is challenging the ministers and the CM of the government. It would be dealt properly. We will follow all legal process and nobody would be allowed to take law into their hands.”

On being asked whether Malik was playing into the hands of any political parties, the CM said everyone knows about it and as the elections come nearer, some people make such efforts.

“We will ensure the law and order situation and also it is our duty to maintain peace and harmony in the state,” the CM said.

On the other hand, Abhimanyu said, “If someone criticises us, it boosts our morale and it shows we are going on the right track.”

Without naming any political party and leader, the finance minister said, “A liar gang is active in the state and Malik is working as the member of that gang. The gang members are those who looted the state for ten years in their tenure and even got their party chief attacked. These members never accepted a Dalit leader as their party chief.”
