Hours after the BJP roped in controversial Haryana Lokhit Party legislator Gopal Kanda to stake claim for government formation, senior BJP leader Uma Bharti criticised the move.

The BJP, which is six MLAs short of the magic figure in Haryana, has decided to take support of Independent candidates, which include Gopal Kanda.In a series of tweets, the former Union minister reminded the party of the “high moral grounds” that it had set for its “leaders and workers”.

Geetika Sharma’s brother said that he was disappointed that people voted a person with criminal background to power, adding that, he was also worried that Kanda may try to allegedly “influence the case”.

Geetika Sharma, a former air hostess with the MDLR airline had committed suicide. She left two suicide notes accusing Kanda and an aide of harassment. She also alleged that Kanda was “having an illicit relationship with another woman, Ankita, with whom he has a child”.
