World Badminton Championship: PV Sindhu secures position in final

Shuttler PV Sindhu entered the BWF World Badminton Championship 2017 after winning against Chen Yufei of China 21-13, 21-10 in the semi-final in Glasgow. In the title match, Sindhu will meet Nozomi Okuhara, who defeated Saina Nehwal in the other semi-final.

After winning the semi-final, Sindhu has secured India of at least a silver medal.

It will be the third medal for Sindhu in the World Championship. Earlier in the 2013 and 2014 editions, she had won bronze. Following this win, she also became the second Indian player to reach the finals of World Championship. In the last edition at Jakarta, Saina achieved that feat.

Sindhu has been in storming form ever since the Rio Olympics. She has clinched her maiden Super Series premier title at China Open in 2016 before winning the India Super Series at New Delhi in April, this year. She also won the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold in January.
