New York : Sikhs in America celebrated Turban day in NY. Wherever they go, roam there. A large number of Sikhs gathered wearing turbans at Times Square. Many Americans also took part in the celebrations and tied turbans to mark the occasion.

The annual turban day was organized by the Sikhs on Times Square. On this occasion, the members of ‘Sikh of New York Organization’ told about the importance of turban. The reason behind this event was to spread awareness about turban. Organisers spoke about the importance and significance of turban and why Sikhs wear turban. Sikh Coalition said that a large number of Americans link turban with terrorism and the main aim of this day is to create awareness about the Sikhs. Turban Day gives Americans and non-Sikhs the chance to wear a turban. In addition, organisers said that Turban Day will be celebrated in California on April 12.
