MEGA JOB FAIRS NECESSARY AS EVERY YOUTH OF PUNJAB WAS NOT AS LUCKY AS SUKHBIR TO INHERENT POST OF DEPUTY CM – CHANNI

THIS NOBLE INITIATIVE AIMED AT EMPOWERING THE YOUTH BY PROVIDING JOBS TO THEM

Asserting that every youth of Punjab was not as lucky as Former Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, who inherited the chair as his father was Chief Minister, the Punjab Technical Education Minister Mr. Charanjeet Singh Channi today said that mega job fairs was necessitated to give jobs to these underprivileged youth of the state.

Addressing the gathering during the mega job fair here at campus of Punjab Technical University today, the Minister said that this job fair would provide golden opportunity to every youth of the state to get employed. He said that in the first phase the target of the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was to provide jobs to the common youth of the state, who were hitherto denied jobs during Akali-BJP regime. Mr. Channi said that under this ambitious drive 50,000 youth would be provided jobs by 900 industrial giants, who were visiting the state during these fairs. He announced that Chief Minister would hand over appointment letters to these 50,000 youth on September 5.

The Minister said that the wheels of the state government have been set in motion to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth. He said that as some youth were not interested in doing jobs and were desirous of opening their own ventures, so the state government would soon organize Rozgar Melas across the state to facilitate such youths. “Besides fulfilling our promise of Har Ghar naukri through job fairs we would open new vistas of self employment for youth through rozgar Melas, so that they could live life with dignity and pride”, added Mr Channi.

The Minister called upon the students to work hard for achieving their desirous goals. He said that no task was impossible in life but determination and hard work was the key to success. Mr Channi said that the youth must dream big and make whole hearted efforts to attain the aim.

Earlier, welcoming the Minister, former Lok Sabha MP Mr Mohinder Singh Kay Pee lauded him for taking this historic initiative to provide jobs to youth.

On the occasion Dean of University Dr NP Singh and Dr AP Singh were also present.
