SAYS IT WAS NEED OF HOUR TO PRESERVE UNITY, INTEGRITY AND SOVEREIGNTY OF THE COUNTRY

General Assistant (GA) to Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar Dr.Baljinder Singh today called upon the students to follow the footsteps of former Deputy Prime Minister of India Sardar Vallabhai Patel and
former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi for preserving the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Addressing the students in a function to mark the Rashtirya Ekta Diwas here at SD Phullarwan School, the GA said that both these great leaders had played a great role in unification of the country and preserving its hard earned unity and integrity. He said that the purpose behind observing the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel and martyrdom day of Mrs. Indira Gandhi today was to keep our
younger generations abreast about the great contribution of both these national leaders. Dr. Baljinder Singh said that the students must take inspiration from these great leaders to thwart any sort of attempt to weaken the country.

The GA said that India was a country with ‘unity in diversity’ and teachers along with the students must make concerted efforts to ensure that the social fabric of the nation was strengthened. He said that all out efforts must be made to thwart the attempts being made to weaken the country on the name of caste, creed, religion, language and others. Dr. Baljinder Singh said that teachers must also come forward to make the students aware about the significance of unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Earlier, the students of the school mesmerized the audience through patriotic songs. On the occasion District Guidance Counselor Mr. Surjit Lal and and Principal of school Mrs. Neeraj Saini welcomed the guests.
