AAP protests teachers’ shortage in CM’s adopted village

Kaithal
Villagers led by AAP district president Vikas Tanwar organised a protest here today against shortage of teachers in Government Senior Secondary School at Keorak village that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has adopted. They submitted a memorandum, addressed to Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, to tehsildar Rakesh Kumar in the mini-secretariat.

Tanwar said it was strange that 15 posts of teacher and supporting staff were lying vacant for long. Students continue to suffer but the government did not fill the vacancies.

He said if such was the situation in the village adopted by the Chief Minister, the condition of other schools could be well imagined. Last year, the results of Class X in the school was just 27 per cent, so how could students perform better this year when there was a shortage of teachers in the school.

Tanwar added that despite several reminders the government did not fill the vacancies in the school. They would protest in front of the residence of the Education Minister in Chandigarh if the vacant posts are not filled immediately.
