AIR COMMODORE S SRINIVASAN AVSM VSM TAKES OVER AIR FORCE STATION CHANDIGARH

CHANDIGARH, 26 DEC 2017: Air Commodore S Srinivasan AVSM VSM has taken over the command of Air Force Station Chandigarh from Air Commodore A Saklani VM on 26 DEC 2017. On this occasion the air warriors of the station presented an impressive ceremonial parade. This was reviewed by the outgoing Air Officer Commanding, after which he handed over the charge of Air Force Station Chandigarh to Air Commodore S Srinivasan.

Air Commodore S Srinivasan was commissioned in Indian Air Force on 11 June 1988 in Flying branch (Transport Stream). He is a Qualified Flying instructor and has flown over 5800 hrs on various aircraft including IL-76 and AN – 32.

He has held various staff and command appointments including Commanding Officer of important transport squadron and Air Officer Commanding of an elite transport base. He is an alumni of National Defence College, New Delhi and DSSC Wellington. He was honoured with Vishisht Seva Medal on 26 Jan 2014 and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal on 26 Jan 2017 for distinguished service of exceptional order.
