The Punjab Government is going to commemorate the 350th parkash purb of the creator of the Khalsa Panth Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in a grand way by holding a State level function on the 24th December. The former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the Chief Minister, Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh would especially reach on the occasion.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesman said that eminent Classical singer Pandit Rajan-Sajan Mishra, Bhai Baldeep Singh, ‘Gurmat Sangitkar’ Dr. Nivedita Singh, Dhadi Jatha Desraj Lachkani and party, prominent Sikh scholar Bhai Ashok Singh Bagria, Historian Dr. Indu Banga, Punjabi Poet Padamshri Dr. Surjit Singh Patar, Dr. Indu Banga would give special performances.
The spokesman said that the entire district administration is working hard as per the instructions of Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana Kanwarpal Singh to ensure that the function is held in a successful manner. Elaborating more, the spokesman said that strict security arrangements have been put in place keeping in view the arrival of the former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
Disclosing more, the spokesman said that as per the visionary guidance of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, special trains were today flagged off from Patiala, Amritsar and Bathinda to ferry the devotees to Sri Patna Sahib Ji, the birthplace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Local Government, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu has also instructed the Secretary of the Department Mr. Vikas Pratap, Director Mr. Shivdular Singh Dhillon to make sure that no loopholes are left in the preparations.
Divulging more, the spokesman said that 6 big LED screens and more than 100 high powered lights and sounds have been installed at the venue. Besides this, adequate sitting arrangements have been made for the common people and 3 stages have been set up. On one stage, members of the Sant Samaj would sit while on the 2nd stage the former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and cabinet ministers would sit. On the 3rd stage, eminent scholars, dhadi jathas, historians, Gurmat Sangeetkars and Punjabi Poets would render their performances.
Not only this but hoardings have been installed at the several places special transportation arrangements have also been made apart from traffic roadmap to ensure smooth operation by the traffic police. The pandal has been divided in 12 sectors with excellent lighting arrangements. The arrangements regarding Guru Ka Langar have also been put in place. The medical teams for the sangat have been deputed and the Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Gurneet Tej and SSP Rupnagar Mr. Rajbachan Singh Sandhu are minutely supervising the every aspect of the arrangements.
