Chandigarh Senior Citizens Association honoured five
Senior Citizens with Lifetime Achievement Award

Chandigarh, December 9, 2017 : Chapter 6 of Chandigarh Senior Citizens Association today organised its Annual Awards Ceremony at the auditorium of Guru Nanak Public School Sector 36 Chandigarh, wherein senior citizen achievers in different fields were honoured with Life Time Achievement Award. Harold Carver, Director Principal, St. Stephen’s Schools in the feild of education, PPS Gill, former Senior Journalist in the field of media, G.S. Channi, noted theatre personality, Harjinder Kaur, former Mayor and social activists and Varinder Mehaniratta celebrated writer in the field of Literature were the recipients of this award, who were presented shawl and memento.
Chapter President, SS Lamba presided over the function and thanked the awardees for enlightening the generations with their excellence. He also demand for a separate ministry for senior citizens .
Other prominent persons honoured included IP Puri President, CSCA, Arun Sood, former Mayor, VP Prabhakar, former President of Chandigarh Press Club of Chandigarh, Aneesh Bhanot, media professional and Honorary Secretary of Neerja Bhanot Pan Am Trust, Rajni Sharma, a Journalist, RK Garg, RTI activist and SD Sharma senior journalist.
The award ceremony followed by a cultural program.A mother daughter duo of Ramanjit Kaur & Sahibnoor enthralled the audience with duet, tumko Piya Dil Diya, followed by Mrs. S Bedi who sang Bajra da Sitta. Famous gazal, sarakti jaye hai rukh se naquab was soulfully rendered by Surjit Singh followed by Preeti Tiwari who was cheered for the song.
