COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE & COLLEGE OF BASIC SCIENCES SHINE IN SHABAD GAAYAN COMPETITION

The fifth day of the annual youth festival of Punjab Agricultural University witnessed soulful renditions of various shabads sung by participants of different colleges in the group and individual Shabad Gayan competitions held here today. College of Agriculture bagged the first position in the group shabad gayan competition followed by College of Basic Sciences and Humanities and College of Home Science at the second and third positions respectively. In the individual Shabad Gayan category, Alisha Vohra of College of Basic Sciences and Humanities won the first prize, followed by Rohit Singh of College of Agriculture coming a close second and Mankiran Kaur from the College of Home Science standing third. Dr V.S. Hans, Estate Officer, PAU and the Chief Guest of the day congratulated the winners and motivated them to aspire higher. Also present at the event were, Director Students Welfare, Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal and Dean College of Home Science, Dr J.K. Gulati.
Tomorrow’s events will include cultural and heritage based competitions involving Chhikoo Bunana, Naale Bunana, Enu Bunana, Mitti de Khidoney and Peeri bunana
