Dr. Madhu Dikshit received AstraZeneca Oration Award
Punjab News 24, SAS Nagar : The pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca provided endowment funds to NIPER, SAS Nagar. NIPER established an AstraZeneca Oration Award with these funds. This award was previously awarded to four eminent scientist till now – Dr.V.M. Katoch, DG-ICMR (2012), Dr. T.S. Balganesh, Distinguished Scientist – CSIR (2013), Dr. Ganesh Pandey, Director, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (2014) and Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, DG-ICMR (2016). This year NIPER, Mohali recognized the pioneering efforts of Dr. Madhu Dikshit, Director, CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow. On 20th September, 2017, Dr. Madhu Dikshit delivered a lecture on “Inhibition of collagen dependent platelet activation: Development of CDRI candidate drug S007-867”. The AstraZeneca Oration Award was conferred up on Dr. Madhu Dikshit at illustrious ceremony at 3:00 PM at Convention Center at NIPER. All the students, faculty members, scientific and technical staff of NIPER as well as the pharmacy expert within tricities attended this function. The Director, NIPER, SAS Nagar Dr. R.R. Akkinepally and Dr. Madhu Dikshit noted that NIPER and CSIR-CDRI are carrying out research on several common areas. The research expertise is complementary. It was realized that collaborative research efforts between these two institutes shall yield synergistic results.
