Punjab News 24, Chandigarh : Lt Gen Surinder Singh, Western Army Commander’s two day visit of Yol
Military Cantonment is culminated here today. The General officer was accompanied by
Mrs Sukhwant Kaur, Regional President AWWA.

The General Officer was briefed by  Lt Gen S K Saini, General Officer Commanding, Rising Star Corps on the prevailing  situation in the Jammu – Pathankot region  and various security measures being adopted.

The Western Army Commander reviewed the preparedness of the Rising Star Corps in countering both conventional and sub-conventional threats in the region and stressed on ensuring full proof security measures. He appreciated the coordinated efforts being made by all security agencies in the area to thwart any nefarious designs by Anti National Elements.

The Western Army Commander exhorted all ranks of the Rising Star Corps to maintain a high state of operational preparedness to meet any eventuality.
