High time Akali Dal stops facade of being protector of Sikh interests: Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa
”Harsimrat Badal must register protest via resignation in case BJP actually interferes in Sikh affairs”
Chandigarh
The Senior Congress leader and Cabinet Minister, Punjab, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today lambasted the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and said that Akali Dal should stop immediately it’s facade of acting as the protector of the interests of Sikhs. He was reacting to the statement of the Akali leader and BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa on the issue of interference by the BJP regime in Maharashtra over appointing the President of Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib.
Going further, S. Randhawa said that if Akali Dal actually feels that it’s alliance partner BJP is meddling realtime in the affairs of the Sikhs then the Akali representative in the Union Cabinet, Harsimrat Badal must tender her resignation to register her protest. He also said that the akalis had pawned the interests of Punjab and that of the Sikhs before the central leadership just for the sake of protecting the ministership of Harsimrat Badal.
S. Randhawa further thundered that the BJP leader R. P. Singh had also taunted the akalis to resign from the government and then threaten to break the alliance. The Congress leader also added that Manjinder Singh Sirsa who is now crying hoarse and assuming the posture of self styled custodian of Sikh interests, is just indulging in dramatics and has been elected MLA from Rajouri Garden in Delhi on BJP ticket. S. Randhawa also elaborated that the dual face of the akalis has been fully exposed before the Sikh Sangat and they should stop the sham of being the custodian of Sikh interests by just issuing statements. He also said that during the UPA rule, the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had done record number of development oriented works in Sri Hazoor Sahib on the occasion of 400th purb celebrations which have never been forgotten by any Sikh across the globe.
