Khattar inspects exercise at Ambala IOCL depot
Ambala,
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today inspected a mega mock drill organised by the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management on earthquake at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) depot here.
While speaking to mediapersons, the Chief Minister said the mega mock drill which was organised in the state was the biggest till date. It had been organised to check the preparedness and alertness so that such situations could be dealt efficiently, he said, adding that a complete report would be prepared regarding the preparedness.
He appreciated officials and said that he was confident that they would efficiently carry out the rescue work in adverse conditions. “I am satisfied with the mock drill,” he added. The CM said the drills must be organised and trainings must be imparted on regular basis.
During the mock drill, the Chief Minister also issued a high-alert directive through video-calling to Chandigarh headquarters and asked all departments for immediate deployment on rescue duty.
The Fire Department demonstrated that how it would control the situation and provide immediate relief to the victims if a fire breaks out at IOCL reservoir tanks after the earthquake or other natural disaster.
