Khattar rules out simultaneous LS, Assembly polls

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has laid to rest all speculations about holding Lok Sabha and Assembly elections simultaneously by Haryana BJP after winning five mayoral polls.
“The idea of one-nation-one-election is good for the country, but there is a need of constitutional amendment in Lok Sabha. All parties have to agree on it. Since, very short time is left, so it is not possible in 2019, but it could be done in 2024. If the Union government or Election Commission of India says, we are ready for it also,” the CM said while interacting with mediapersons after inagurating Saral Kendras at the DC office.On the issue of resentment among four MLAs, including a minister, the CM claimed it is not big issue and said no resentment prevailed among them.
On the status of Rohingya Muslims in Haryana, the CM maintained that the Home Department knows about their number and they have been providing temporary facilities to them. Future course of action would be decided by the Union government, he added.
Regarding the state government offer to Maruti for setting up another plant in Haryana, the CM said the government has offered land in seven different locations, including two in Gurugram, one in Karnal, in Kharkhoda, Faridabad and other parts, but it will be decided by the company which place is suitable for them.
The CM admitted that the victory in the five local body elections have boosted the morale of the party leaders and workers and said it was the victory of the development works being done by the BJP government.
