RSS leader, BJP chalk out poll strategy
Jammu
To devise a strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the BJP’s core group along with representatives of some offshoots of the Sangh Parivar on Tuesday evening held a three-hour meeting with RSS sarkaryavah Suresh Joshi, popularly known as ‘Bhaiyyaji’ Joshi.
The meeting assumes significance as the Sangh leadership is apparently not happy with the recent political developments in Ladakh, especially after the BJP’s debacle in the urban local bodies election followed by the resignation of sitting Lok Sabha member Thupstan Chhewang.
Sources said the Sangh Parivar was worried about the anger among the cadre against the BJP leadership in general and former ministers of the PDP-BJP coalition government in particular. “The BJP leaders were asked to improve their style of functioning and establish contact with the hardcore supporters and weaker sections,” a source said. A member of the BJP’s core group said: “Bhaiyyaji Joshi suggested that the BJP leaders should change their style of working to reach out to every section of society.”
