Law Students from SLSA meet Chandigarh Commission For Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) Chairpersonship, Harjinder Kaur
Chandigarh, 21th December 2017: Law Intern Students from State Legal Services Authority visited the office of Chandigarh Commission For Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR). An Interaction Session was held under the chairpersonship of Ms. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR. Sh. Amarinder Sharma, Secretary, DLSA was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Sh. Amarinder Sharma said that Law Interns should attached themselves with commissions such as CCPCR along with DLSA, SLSA, DCPU as other such organisations for the welfare of the society. He further said that they should not consider themselves as a profession rather should join this profession with a passion. While welcoming the guests and interns in this session Ms. Harjinder kaur briefed the working of Commission and its activities to the interns.

The Chief Guest while motivating the law interns sensitized on the cyber crimes by giving certain practical references from his own authored book “Awake And Transform into Cyber Czars” that Cyber Crime is an area where an aware persons can be trapped also. So, awareness on safety and precautionary measures is required. An interaction was conducted on holistic development and quality education and it was resolved that minimum commitment should always be to ensure the best interest of the child. Intern also cleared their legal doubts regarding child rights from Ms. Nishtha Jaswal, Member, CCPCR. The Interns will submit their feedback to the commission through SLSA collectively. On this occasion Ms. Nishtha Jaswal, Member, CCPCR, Sh. Naveen Sharma, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Chandigarh, Dr. Vandana Gupta, Medical Superintendent, GMSH-16, Chandigarh, Sh. D.R. Negi, Member CCPCR, Sh. Chanchal Singh, RTE Consultant, Sh. Kartar Singh, Law Officer, Sh. Rajeshwar, Law Officer, SLSA were present.
