President of the J&K Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti has constituted a four-member advisory council.

Senior party leader and MP Muzaffar Hussain Baig will be the chairman of the council.

Dr Mehboob Beg, Trilok Singh Bajwa and Mohammad Sartaj Madni will be the members of the council.

The council has been constituted by the party president in exercise of the inherent powers vested in her under the party’s constitution.

The newly formulated council is first such body of the party which is empowered to oversee and supervise the implementation of decisions to be taken by the Political Affairs Committee and other matters related to the functioning of party at all levels. The PDP president has also nominated Abdul Hameed Kosheen and Jatinder Bhat as the secretaries for the party. They will look after the party office affairs at Srinagar and Jammu, respectively. This was stated by party vice-president Mohammad Sartaj Madni.
