PARGAT SINGH TO INAUGURATE PUNJAB STATE GAMES FOR BOYS ON NOVEMBER 20

Former Skipper of Indian Hockey Team and MLA from Jalandhar Cantt Mr. Pargat Singh would inaugurate the Punjab State Games for boys (under 17) on November 20 and Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma would be the chief guest on the concluding day viz. November 22.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner, during a meeting with the officers of the Sports department here at his office today, said that district administration has put in place a mechanism to make elaborate arrangements for proper boarding and lodging of 2400 players arriving in the city during the
Punjab State Games for boys (under 17) scheduled to be held from November
20-22. He said that every effort would be made to make this gala event a huge success. Mr. Sharma said that foolproof arrangements would be made for comfortable stay of players coming to city for this event.
The Deputy Commissioner said that requisite arrangements would be made to ferry the players from venue of event to the place of accommodation. Likewise, Mr. Sharma said that adequate arrangements have also been made to ensure safety and security of the players besides providing them medical treatment during the event.
Pertinently during the games sporting events of Hockey, athletics, handball, football, kabaddi, basketball, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Judo would be held at separate venues. To ensure comfortable stay for the players participating in this mega events the administration has made arrangements at Sai Dass, Parvati Jain, Government Senior Secondary school Ladowali road, Doaba Khalsa senior secondary school, Sports school and Government Model senior secondary school.
