Savita Bhatti organizes ‘Gandgi Mela’ to create awareness about Swachh Bharat Mission at sector 17 plaza
Chandigarh, December, 22:- Mrs. Savita Bhatti, brand ambassador, Swachh Bharat Mission, Chandigarh today organized a programme under the banner of “Gandgi Mela” to create awareness about Swachh Survekshan-2018 at plaza, sector 17, Chandigarh today.
During the programme a play was also staged by Mrs. Bhatti accompanied by the artists/members of nonsense club, Chandigarh to display how, the people throw garbage in the open and spit on walls and in the open. She said that it is moral responsibility of every citizen to get themselves aware about the ‘dirt’ they are spreading in the open and public land.
Giving the message of use of proper dustbins for dry waste and wet waste, the play staged at plaza, the artists displayed that how the unaware people spread garbage in the open places even the MCC has provided green and blue dustbins for the dry and wet waste separately everywhere i.e. in the markets, parks, near the public toilets and other public places.
During the event, Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Municipal Commissioner said that people should use those dustbins to throw the waste properly and should not spit on walls. While talking about the theme of the programme as “Gandgi Mela”, he said that the nonsense club is always tries to aware citizens about best life style and as ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission, Chandigarh, Mrs. Savita Bhatti has taken the cause of creating awareness amongst public through this theme. He said that these type of programmes will be organized in future also with more additions according to the Swachh Survekshan-2018 programmes of MCC.
During the event, Dr. Saurabh Mishra, IAS, Additional Commissioner and other officers of MCC were also present. “Swachhata MoHUA app” download stall was also installed by the MCC at Plaza, Sector 17 to create awareness among masses regarding use of Swachhta MoHUA app.
